Things I’m Loving Thursday

I’m writing this on the girls first week of school. The very first week (in the five years of being home) I’ve been a stay at home mom without stay at home kids. That’s right. They’re both in elementary school.

So crazy. Here’s me:

Don’t get me wrong. They’re amazing and it’s nice to have them home. It’s just going to be great to cheer them on as they go out conquer the world… And give them big kisses when they’re done at 3.

Anyway, 2 years ago when I started this blog, the big picture was to get more serious about things after the girls started school. Well that time is here. Never would I have believed we’d be living in a different city or a different house but I am a number one fan of looking back and seeing how God has orchestrated things. And while I miss our old city and friends, I can see how He has paved the way to this new chapter. He’s good y’all.

With all of that being said, I’m adding a new blog series. I’ll be working toward regularly posting twice a week. Ramping things up. So here we go. My first installment of ‘Things I’m Loving Thursday’. These posts will contain, you guessed it, things I’m loving! They’ll have links to a variety of things. Home things. Clothing things. Blog articles. Instagram accounts. DIY ideas. Recipes. ANYTHING I WANT. As long as I’m loving it.

This week, I’m loving:

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han This post contains affiliate links.

I read the 3 book series last summer. It’s a YA novel and it was so cute and sweet. This last week Netflix released the first book as a movie. It was so good! Pretty to look at. Super cute house (because I always notice). Sweet story. Loved it.

I bought this dress recently. I haven’t worn a dress to anything but a wedding in at least 3 years. I don’t know how that happened but it did. The girls asked me to try it on for them because they ‘couldn’t picture me in a dress’. The following picture: obviously not me.

It’s cute! I like that it isn’t thin, slinky cotton (I feel like those make things look bouncy…). It has pockets.  It has sleeves so I dont have to worry about bra straps showing. It fits true to size and I feel like it would look so good transitioning to fall with some booties and a cardigan. I didn’t get a real picture in it because….#notafashionblogger but I did wear it and talk about it on my instastories so here’s a super blurry screenshot from that.

I thought I’d look back through some of my earlier posts and pick a project that maybe you haven’t seen before. This one gets tons of repins on Pinterest. I love that because it means it’s a totally achievable project. So the next thing I love? This macrame plant hanger made from an old t shirt.

I used a faux succulent and a bowl from the dollar tree for the rest. It was a great way to bring faux life (greenery) into a windowless bathroom. Also, what a cute craft for a boring dorm room corner! MAKE IT!

The last thing I love today? White painted brick. I’ve also talked about this on Instagram but we’re having to replace the siding on the upstairs of our house. While we’re at it, the whole exterior is going to get painted. WHITE! Here are some images that give me major inspiration. Make sure you pin them from their original source. It gives credit where credit is due.

I’m so excited. PUT ME IN COACH! Make sure and tune in. Some dreamy curb appeal will happen this fall.

Come back Tuesday for a quick, free dollar lamp makeover and some pictures of our finished bedroom.

Thanks for reading, friends!
