Primp and Pamper: Girls Bathroom Progress

The bathroom primp and pamper is almost over yall!! I showed you the plans and talked about the fixtures but I haven’t really shown you what all we’ve been doing. Now, this is going to be the cliff-notes version. If you want to see the updates in more detail you can go watch all the bathroom update stories in my highlights on Instagram.

The first thing we had to do were the floors. We were able to use the plywood subfloor that was already there. We installed concrete board on top. I decided on a basket weave pattern with the tiles and laid out the placement. We cut the tiles. Note: this was harder than I expected. The saw took a long time because it’s not like cutting wood– I knew this but not really. My husband cut them and I ran up and down the stairs dry fitting. Then it was tile to install them with thinset. I had never done any of these things and the floor looks pretty great. I’m so thankful to have learned and that it actually turned out. Here’s a video I shared on my insta stories.

After the tile was done and grouted it was time for board and batten. We had a hard time in the beginning but once we worked out some kinks, it wasn’t so bad.

After caulking and priming, it was time to paint. I love the color I picked. It’s Sherwin Williams “Chaise Mauve”.

Once the walls were painted it was time for the vanities to be brought in.

Side note: you might remember that I had yellow rainbows on my design board. I hand painted them on this back wall and then decided against the look. I just really loved the board and batten and the vanities and I really didn’t think the space needed another thing.

I had found some mirrors on Facebook Marketplace but ended up springing for these arched beauties from Target.

Last week my sweet dad installed the faucets and the light fixtures and now I just have some touch up work and I’m figuring out accessories.

I CANNOT wait to show you the whole thing. It’s really, really beautiful. For now, you can find all the shopping links by scrolling below.

Make sure and come back next week for the big reveal!
