Smith Home

I’ve put together my selections for finishing out the kitchen.

RUG:

For an area rug in the living room, I’d do a 9X12 and lay it with the long side parallel to the kitchen island and TV. it should span most of the sitting section of the room and will be a great proportion. smaller rugs can make a room feel choppy. its a medium pile height. You could also buy a rug pad that will help it feel more plush. Area rug

And then, you can do a runner in the kitchen but I think a mat at the sink and oven are great too. Here’s one I liked and its busy so it will hide stains better. I think the rust color will speak to the living room rug.

CUSHION:

here are some sites where you can check out cushions for the benches. it’ll be about $350 on this site. good outdoor fabric is easier to clean and stands up better. Spectrum dove is a taupey grey. outdoor cushions

There are many options on Etsy I measured one side to go all the way into the corner and the other to butt up to it.

BISTRO TABLE:

remember, we can still go the custom route.

BAR STOOLS:

I’ve added some fan lights and hardware to your board. I really think it would be cleaner looking if we put a can light over the toilet instead of another light fixture, especially since the fan will be added. I did link to a ceiling light, though, and a vent with heater as well. I also added some extra hardware. Hopefully you’re drawn to something in there. Let me know if you need anything else!

Hi Kelly and Mike! I’ve been working on your bathroom and wanted to send you a first round for impressions. Let me know how you’re feeling about it and we can work from there. I’ve also shared links so that you can get an idea of pricing.

links to similar lights, I put my favorite first:

A few notes. I like to mix metals, so all the plumbing fixtures are stainless steel and things like the towel hooks, hardware etc are oil rubbed bronze. We talked about picking a flooring color for the living area and pulling that into here. I will pick up sample to help yall narrow things down but I think something warm and mid tone will be nice and lighten things up. Tile is also an easy answer if you decide to go that route for the floors. (the tile samples on the board are for the shower walls and floors. I’ll also bring paint samples for when its time to choose cabinet and wall colors.

Updated from our 12/7 meeting:

here’s a more current design board so you can more easily visualize

then, I thought I’d link to some of the tile wood floors in case you wanted to look at a few of those:

(I’d want them to look as close as possible to what we pick for the rest of the house so we’ll need to see them in real life. I’m happy to grab samples, just let me know)
