Serrano Home

Hi Enrique and Anna, Congrats on your upcoming marriage and home sweet home! Thanks for letting me help y’all with the process. I have a linked the things that I put in your design board but I know that some of it will be found secondhand. Really, what I focused on was adding warmth to the space. With the gray floors and the blue backsplash there’s a lot of cool tones happening, so everything that I added, pulls in the warms and balances what’s already in there.
It’s very hard, obviously, to know what’s gonna come up when you’re buying secondhand. The thing that I would say with this design board is to keep an open mind. You know what direction you’re going toward but you don’t know exactly exactly what things are going to be out there when you need them. So, some of these pieces might change based on what you find. For example, if you find a black or white dining table that you like, then I would pair it with a light/ muted wood toned armoire as opposed to the design board, where I gave you a wood toned table and dark armoire.
I pulled navy into the rug and artwork, spreading it around the room to pull in your backsplash. To print Art out at Mpix (there are always coupon codes), you can thrift frames or I really like the ones at IKEA. Make sure there are fewer, larger works as opposed to a bunch of tiny things on the wall. (if at any point, you’d want me to come over and hang the things that you’ve collected where I think they would look best, I’m happy to give you quote)
A couple more notes on hanging art. Don’t focus on having some thing on every wall. Like I told you, I would stack two to the left of the back door. I do a couple artworks around the TV. If an armoire that you get for the dining room is taller and narrower as opposed to a China cabinet that’s wider, you could put a couple artworks on that back wall, and then something in that entryway space. Another option for the entryway is a mirror. Art is so subjective so I linked to some that I liked that would work in your space and I also linked to some mirrors but find things that you love and that speak to y’all.
here are the links to what I’ve picked and some extras.

I love that y’all have a blank space with so many possibilities. Don’t get overwhelmed but try to enjoy it. It’ll all come together. Home takes time. ☺️
If it interests you at all, I have an e-book on my website that has tips and tricks for hanging artwork, picking rug sizes, creating flow in your home and all of that.
Please let me know if this is not what you had pictured based on the images you sent me, I’m happy to make adjustments, but I think this is a pretty good mix of what you two liked.
