Hey yall. This is a weird time. We’re all at home and trying to make the best of the situation while we wait. I’m praying for the sick, for the working, for families who are hungry or worried about job security. God is so good and He’s got us. I thought I would round up some budget-friendly DIY projects that can be done for free or with limited materials. Maybe they’ll give you some ideas if you’re chomping at the bit for a project.
You can replace the window frame in your door to modernize it and make it easier to clean. This one costs more but makes a big difference and the link to the product is from a small business. Win. Win.
You can dye your curtains, comforters, rugs….Or anything else you’re getting sick of seeing. : )
You could use scrap fabric or current curtains and turn them into roman shades. I’ve made them two different ways. These are with fabric and scrap wood:
and these are with curtains and tension rods:
Paint an accent wall:
This one is made with tiny dashes.
Tape a line and then paint above or below. Paint the trim and door for an extra detail.

I painted an arch above this closet door.
Paint your old grout. GAME CHANGER. Plus one bottle did our kitchen and bathroom.
Build a shelf for a console table.
Reupholster chair cushions (you could use scrap fabric, shower curtains etc:
Garden for free by splitting perennials:
Finally, if you didn’t have time to start or finish the cleanout, do that! It’s free and will make you feel so much better to rid yourself of clutter.
Hope some of these give you ideas. I think most products can be bought online or maybe you already have some of it on hand. I’m not doing in person consults but I’m still offering e design if you want to get a jump start on a room while you have a little more down time.
Hang in there friends. Take care of yourself. It’s ok to feel all the feels but know that you’re loved and not alone.
Thanks for reading, friends.
