DIY Christmas Tree Collar

Welcome back. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with lots of blessings. A couple weeks ago I shared our Christmas tree and I want to share how I made our DIY faux leather tree collar. I’m joining with 8 other bloggers for what hopefully will be lots of inspiration for you as you decorate for Christmas.

I had left over faux leather (here’s the one) from the doors in the reading room makeover. I didn’t have a long enough piece to make the whole collar so I cut seven equal, rectangular sections (it was all we had left).

I used the hot glue gun to join the pieces, raw edges out.

Once all the sections were joined together

I took a cardboard box and cut it down to a little shorter than the height of the leather and hot glued it to the back of the leather.

This cardboard already had folded sections but you could cut the width of sections you’d like or just bend your cardboard into the shapes you want to make.

From there, it just fit right under the tree. It doesn’t wrap all the way around.

I fussed with it for a bit to position it exactly how I wanted it and I love the finished product.

I hope you’ll try this! You could use fabric, felt, spray paint. It cost me zero dollars and is the perfect finishing touch to this years tree.
