Oh my goodness! I’m so excited for today. First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day. You are loved and I hope you feel that today. Secondly, I’m teaming up with an amazing group of women to participate in the Choose Your Own Adventure Refresh hosted by my blog friend Jewel of Jeweled Interiors. The title is a fancy way of saying we all had different kinds of spaces to work on but wanted to team up anyway. For this makeover I picked our master bathroom. *this post contains affiliate links.
One side of it anyway. Our bathroom is an L shape. I’m working on my husbands side and the toilet/ shower room. The other length of the L, my vanity, is actually connected to our bedroom.
There’s carpet and I’m just not ready to tackle it because it means
working on the bedroom flooring as well. PLUS, our bathroom,
specifically Joel’s side, acts as the guest bathroom since it’s the only one downstairs.
That’s something I’d like to change someday but for now I can just do
some projects to make it look more presentable.
It’s pretty obvious but I feel the need to say I did NOTHING
to make this look presentable before shooting these. I could have folded
the towel or cleared of the counters but nope. This was it when I was
ready to take pictures.
Plus, I feel like it adds to the awesomeness
when before and afters are put side by side..
I have lots of work to do but I’m so excited about the plan. Let me show you! (You can click each item below to be taken to it’s website.)
Isn’t it so pretty?!
I’ve been inspired by this image since we decided to move.

We have almost the exact same mirror from the vanity that used to be in the dining room at our last house.
first house: dining room makeover |
I took it off when we got here and it’s been propped in a corner, waiting for it’s time to shine.
The mirror will be centered over the sink. The sea shell sink. Off white. With gold glitter. Listen, we could replace the counter top but I want you to see what some quick changes will do. DIY projects and paint are magical and I’d love to make do with most of what we already have to inspire you to make an original bathroom pretty for now and not just hate it until you replace it. Ok. Back to regular programming. The mirror centered over the sink. That makes the lighting off centered.
Enter this awesome wall light called “ashleigh” from Mitzi and Hudson Valley Lighting. It’s meant to be installed on the wall upright but if my measurements are correct, we’ll be able to install it horizontally and make it look centered over the mirror. Please go ahead and cross your fingers that it’ll work. If it does I’m gonna be pretty dang excited.
In the space next to the mirror I’ll be using these art prints thanks to Minted.
I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve I’ll share with you next week. That’s pretty much it! The rest is paint and hardware I found on Amazon. I am so excited to get this project started. It feels good to make a space beautiful even when you know it’s not a permanent fix. Might as well love it now!
Make sure and check out the other rooms getting spruced up in this series. Oh my goodness I’m so excited to be working with these women!
And a big thanks to the sponsors for this project.
