Hello and welcome! I’m so thankful to Jess at Domicile 37 for hosting the Winter Eclectic Home Tour and for inviting me back!
To see our 2017 tour (and our first house) go here. If you’ve been following along you might be joining me from Jeweled Interiors. I love her amazing, colorful, glam style ALL THE TIME so her house at Christmas is even better. *this post contains affiliate links. If you’re new to my site, we moved into this home in June and inside, we’ve
mostly made easy, cheap, cosmetic changes so far. Check out our big exterior makeover though. Without further ado, I’ll take you through the house in the order you’d see things. That means, welcome to the entryway. I just finished a temporary makeover of this space.
I painted and stenciled the floors and hung removable wallpaper to make some temporary yet pretty great changes in here.

If you look over to the left you’ll see our very messy, untouched-since-we-moved-in, soon-to-be-made-over reading room. Since all the books are stacked on the wall I figured I could borrow a few for a very dreamy book tree.
I added lights. It’s pretty awesome.
When you look straight ahead from the front door you’ll see our mantel. We didn’t have a mantel at our last house so styling this was a treat. I have a sweet friend who made that sign for me.
(I’ll be giving it away on my Instagram after Christmas. Sure, you wont get to use it this year but next year when you open that poster tube, it’s gonna be the BEST!!)
I’ll share the links that I have for the Christmas decor but the garland is in the regular greenery section at Hobby Lobby, I added some Hob Lob eucalyptus and the bottle brush trees are from Target dollar spot last year.
The letters on the stockings were from the dollar spot this year. I just added the color and the little sprig of greenery.
Our tree is behind the sofa so that we can enjoy it from the dining area too.
The tree can be found here. It’s very realistic looking. I always like unlit trees. Number 1 because I like to have the option to switch light colors. Number 2 because I always hear people sad when a strand of their pre-lit tree goes out. That wont happen to us! SCORE!
I talked more about this year’s tree decor in this post and actually as the season goes on I have grown to love it more and more.
With the mantel being a little more layered and busy, I kept the tv console pretty simple.
I found those two cabinets at an estate sale and painted them then my husband mounted them to the wall for a little more modern look. That makeover can be read about here. I love them because they feel like they’ve always been here.

Opposite the tv console is the piano that the previous owners left us. No one plays but our big kid likes to sit there and pretend she does.
I kept it pretty simple over here too. We have our simple Advent calendar reused from last year.
And I added a few Santas to the things that were already hanging out on the shelf.
My favorite new addition this year is my Gran’s wreath. It was a little orangey so i added some fresh paint and a new bow and I’m so happy to have it.

The dining room is the last thing I’ll show you today. Phew, this has been a long one.
I did a dining room makeover at the end of the summer. It’s clean, modern-ish and simple and I love the tiny Christmas touches in here.
Really the best part of the room is the magic that happens with that bowl of disco ball ornaments on the table.
This room only gets direct sunlight in the winter (which is a great time for that so it’s cool). Want to know the best way to stay cheerful and happy when the winter gets long? DISCO BALLS PLACED IN SUNLIGHT. It’s science, people.

That’s it y’all! Our first Christmas in this lovely home. I’m so, so thankful for it. I’m more-so thankful for Jesus. He’s the reason for the season!!
If you’re moving along in the home tour, head over to my friend Carli’s house. Her family just moved into an historic home over the summer. I’m sure her house at Christmas is pretty dreamy. Make sure and come back on Thursday for a free and EASY Christmas DIY.
Thanks again for hosting, Jess. And thanks for reading, friends!
